The world’s largest online video website got enhanced with an instrumental version of Aladdin’s theme, this time it sounds like the real version from the movie and not something created later like on the dreadful karaoke cd.
EmpireSB’s version includes the complete soundtrack played during that song. Unlike other people’s versions of this song this one is missing the voice track completely.
Arbutus attractive?
Tracking back a refer to my Arbutus page at Agrabah’s Enemies at Disney Dreams boards lead to a topic about Most Attractive Villain! From Al’s universe people agree that besides plant guy, Saleen, Mozenrath and even Jafar are attractive evil doers.
Personally I don’t find Arbutus handsome but Mozenrath quite the looker and Saleen (when drawn right) is a hottie. I also find Mirage the sexiest of all Aladdin’s bad girls and Cassim. But the latter is a good guy but don’t forget he invaded the palace on Aladdin & Jasmine’s wedding day for crying out loud.

Jasmine is my favourite princess, but I do see where people are soming from when they say she’s spoiled. She does behave in a bratty, selfish way at some points-instead of trying to discuss the marriage thing with her father she refused to listen to what he had to say, which is unreasonable.
However, that does not change my opinion of her. Yeah, she may be spoiled but that makes her stand out from the other princesses. She’s not just another 100% perfect young girl who’s continuously nice to everyone regardless. And anyway, if she’s spoilt it’s probably all due to the fact that she’s the Sultan’s only daughter. And he’s not very assertive is he? xDD
So yeah. Her ‘spoilt-ness’ is what makes me like her. It makes her more realistic. As a matter of fact, Ariel behaves more spoilt and I find her annoying sometimes-but with Jasmine, I can put up with her spoilt side. Meh. I don’t think that even makes sense.
Over at the LJ community d_princess a huge Ariel fan received a Princess schedule she scanned the very best poses & dresses of the b-6 (big six) including 4 Jasmine pictures. The loot: 1 original spring dress, 1 old dress, 2 cute poses.
Seeing Amy Adams preform Happy Working Song at yesterdays Oscars yearned me to when the Best Song nomiees where a big event during the gala. Look at Brad and Lea preform live at the Oscars.
I was schocked to read that Enchanted didn’t bring home the Best Song Oscar despite having three nominated songs. Also I was sad to learn that the score didn’t win either. Considering the songs are more fresh and orginal in a Disney semi-animated film in almost a decade, and the first time Alan Menken wrote for a Disney film since Home On The Range he should’ve brought home something.
But who needs an Oscar anyway the film already has a good sized fan base of people like myself yearning to days gone by when the studio produced high quality hand-animated films. Films with realistic characters that feel emotions and can make you laugh or cry within seconds eventhough they live in fictional kingdoms and are princes and princesses they can be real to people who want to believe in fairytales.
People like Tube’r vanimelda4 who did the logical thing let the big six sing “That’s how you know”

eze2804 clipped together the Enchanted Suite and a bunch of clips from Princess movies incl. Aladdin. I didn’t think it was very good and I would’ve done it differently.
Use clips from fun theatical songs like Be Our Guest and Kiss the Girl during the That’s How You Know part then include footage from Snow White and Cinderella cleaning for the Happy Working Song followed romantic clips like the ball room dance or Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and Beauty a/t Beast.
Sims are talking about magic lamps since the Sims 2 came out three years ago and thanks to some creative fans Sims could dress up as genies, street urchin and Arabian princesses but their searches for the mythical Cave of Wonders always ended up at death ends. Sure some Sims made it their job to hunt for ancient relics in the Adventurer career that was added trough an expansion pack but the magic lamp seemed lost forever.
However from February 26, 2008 on genie’s lamp is within their reach. That’s when The Sims 2 FreeTime hits the streets it contains a magic lamp that summons a purple Genie Sims ready to grant wishes. The Genie can grant just one wish at the time it’s up to the Sim to choose.
Wealth, Beauty, Cheat Death, Longer Life and unlike Aladdin’s genie this being can bring people back from the death.
How to get a Magic Lamp with the genie?
Some sources say that the household needs a total 16 hobby points for the gypsy woman to drop you a lamp while others say there’s a 2% chance every day your household receives a lamp and that chance can be increased when Sims have many hobby points prefer a full hobby bar or 2.
My families in the Seasons neighborhood, descents of a pre-made household, are big Nature lovers with greenhouses and all… plus one teenage girl is in Platinum mood ever since she filled her music and arts hobby bar fully but still no gypsy with magic lamp.
Cheating seems the only other way to get the lamp, typ boolprop testingcheatsenabled true call the gypsy and spawn the lamp by shift+click and select spawn->genie lamp. If you thought that you can sell the lamp from the Aspir family in Desiderata Valley by opening a public store on a community lot, forget it! The lamp can’t be priced.

The Disney Blog carried the amusing story that Enchanted composer, the famed Alan Menken known and loved for his songs and score of past Disney films, is worried he’s competing with himself for this year’s Best Song Oscar.
The source the article is linking is death so I have to guess blog’s author means the Academy members can’t decide what song to vote for. I say vote for “That’s How You Know” because it’s funny, catchy and the best original song I’ve heard in a musical film in years. Yay for Alan’s return.
Livjournal user Captain_Sarah, who recently joined a few of my fanlistings thank you very much, took up the challenge to create 100 Aladdin icons (or avatars whatever you prefer) for the Disney Icon community.
She’s isn’t the first to do an Aladdin challange for Disney 100. I reported about to earlier challengers last year. In August I wrote a peice on shinygreenappleicons attempt and mhitori took the challenge in June.
I love the icons where she cut out the characters and put a fancy 70′s style background behind them. A puzzle I have was used for icon #51, Love Struck #71 is cute too. -;)
A new ‘Making of Aladdin’ category post is long overdue but you know it’s diffecult to find matitial and subjects to write about. Good news though I found 2 model sheets of Aladdin by Glen Keane.

Expressions and body poses of a young looking Aladdin forms a guideline for Glen’s animation to team follow.
On the second sheet are design changes of the characters face and neck explained. This modelsheet was part of Glen Keane’s lecture after the decision was made to make Aladdin look older. The DVD has a feature on it titled “Desiging the lead character”, freeze in the last frame after Glen says: “unfortunate that’s the one we have to draw” see the screenshot.
Mermaid fans will love the 10 Ariel modelsheet there too. I love #3 Ariel looking over her shoulder. The hope in her eyes in #4 and the sadness in the last modelsheet.

The Friday Feb. 15 2008 issue of De Pers, a free Dutch newspaper had a fascinating article about how the Internet became a podium for cartoonists without the need of a newspaper like in the pre-Internet days.
On page 13 the paper printed the “56 Geeks” poster by Scott Johnson. The 56 geek poster can be ordered at his website.
I imagine a guy wearing Mickey’s clothing and wearing a Mickey ears hat being a Disney geek.
A girl either little or teenager wearing a Cinderella’s ballgown (or any of the other four other princess, no Jasmine became of well known reasons) completing it with a wand and tiara.
An Aladdin would of course be a random 20′s girl rubbing a magic lamp with her tongue sticking out.
He creates geeks on request for a decent fee of $42.00 but sadly doesn’t accept new orders at the moment.
In honor of Valentine’s Day 2008 here’s a coloring page of Aladdin and Princess Jasmine riding horseback. They’re off on a picknick leaving the rest of the gang in charge, to make sure the city is still standing when they return in the evening.
Foor every one with romance on their mind. I didn’t draw this coloring page myself nor did I scan it I meerly pasted two excisting black and white image together and decorated it.

Youtube’r loopstatgirl made a fresh Aladdin & Jasmine Music Video just in time of Valentine. It’s a fine example of an AMV of Al/Jas without a sappy ballad. Set on I need a hero by Bonnie Tyler written for the Footloose1984 film based on the musical with the same name.
