Over at the LJ community d_princess a huge Ariel fan received a Princess schedule she scanned the very best poses & dresses of the b-6 (big six) including 4 Jasmine pictures. The loot: 1 original spring dress, 1 old dress, 2 cute poses.

The Disney division responsible for the publisations of Princess are just in time for the 15th Anniversary Celebration of Aladdin’s debut. In DPM (Disney Princess Magazine) issue 12 has small Jasmine artwork on the front cover she shares space with a cute smiling Aurora and the sweet looking Cinderella. Issue 12 introduces Cinderella’s golden enchanted tales dress in comic and center poster. Beauty’s Belle gets attention in a couple activities in a coloring page. Princess Aurora and Snow White get spotlight in a comic and several little games/activites.

Our desert rose has a two page story about her “Impossible Wish” with beautiful artwork of Agrabah in the distance and her and Aladdin on Carpet. The story premise goes like this.

When Jasmine and Aladdin admire a painting of a meddow full with colorful flowers Jasmine wishes that she could see such goregus flowers from her bedroom balcony. At the balcony Aladdin explains it’s an impossible because flowers don’t grow in the sand. Then she looks up to the sky and an idea comes to her. Together with her boyfriend the princess takes on carpet making twists and turns through the clouds sculpting them into white flower clouds. Admering Jasmine’s creativty Aladdin remarks that they’re still white. His girlfriend mentions him to wait
and see and when the sun sets the clouds color pink, lila, orange and yellow shades.

Disney just opened a small website featuring both Enchanted Journey and Magical Jewels video game as well as the older (November 2006) Royal Adventure for the Game Boy Advance.
Notice that older Princess fans who played RPG’s like Zelda: A Link To The Past on the Super Nintendo that Royal Adventure’s visuals borrow heavily from those games. Actually the Game Boy Advance is allot like the SNES in pocket format. But that trivial information lets continue on the site.
It consists of summaries, screenshots and a good resolution trailer for the Wii version that’s out since 2007 edition of the E3 game fair. The only change is that game got a mild Cartoon Voilence rating by the ESRB

Ariel’s Atlantica and Jasmine’s Agrabah appear as short mini-games while the rest of the kingdoms are extensivly covered in five sections for each world. Jasmine rides Carpet on a fast horizontal scrolling Cave of Wonders level collecting magic lamps. As Spyrte explores each stage for gems in the princess world that princess is tagged along coming into action when other items are found that the fairy can’t carry herself. If enough items are collection that princess golden dress is unlocked.

The game is aimed at girls ages 4 to 8 and has a multiplayer option for 2 players.

Since it’s a month since Disneyinfo.nl published a press-release that ET hits shelves November 7, I wondered if the DVD was added to the inventory of Bol.com already. It was and with 13% off I pre-ordered Jasmine’s return to animation-land for € 13, 99.
I’m curiously patiently waiting for November 7th.

As I wrote in August, Princess October issue features Jasmine on the cover, inside the girls magazine a comic, activities, coloring page and poster are found. Just like .. showed the teaser back cover of September was transferred to the October issue.
As you see Jasmine’s facial features are off, something the other princesses in this issue seem to have problems with as well. The Aurora, Ariel and Belle are all drawn different then we’re accustomed too. What makes up is the inclusion of Jasmine cover art from older magazines from issue 5-2005 and from the 1-2005.

The comic titled “Met Vlag and Wimpel” Agrabah’s Flag tells the story of assistant flag designer Farah and how she design a new banner for the city.
It stars with the sultan asking the kingdoms best designers to come up with a new design for the royal flag. Jasmine doesn’t like their aggressive designs so she hangs out with her new friend and asks her to make a design too. And while the other designers including Farah’s boss are against it the Sultan gives the girl permission to make a design as well “everyone deserves a chance” he said.
Later that week the top designers present their final design of a blue steamer with the palace and three swords. Then the junior designer presents her steamer. It shows a dancing Jasmine with roses and stars. Of course the sultan chooses this design and Farah’s career as flag designer takes off.

This month’s issue has a nice coloring page of a dancing Jasmine. I’ll discuss it in a future post naturally I’ll include a scan too. I’ll skip the silly dancing lesson if you don’t mind. Next are to activity, a find the difference and a match making game. How to make Agrabah’s Palace piggy bank is cute but not worth diving deeper into. Finally the super center poster shows Prince Ali, Jasmine and Rajah exactly like the photo Rossana showed last month.

Exactly a year ago I wrote a few lines on the 2007 edition of Disney Princess Wall Calendar. It so happens I can repeat this for the 2008 edition because I just picked it up this week.

Last year I did a frantic search to get it but besides the web no regular stores carried it here in the city. And those web stores that did carry it only accepted the credit cards I don’t have, which no card at all. My best bet for Disney calendars has always been the department store V&D. I got a cute general Disney calendar there some years ago and it’s just simply fun to shop there. It’s big enough to find what I’m looking for, often CD/DVD or clothing, prices are okay and except on weekends not too busy despite it’s located in the city centre that’s swapped with tourists.

The calendar itself is made by Grupo Erik and comes in five languages English, Spanish, France, German and Portuguese. The girls are portrayed in their regular princess form except Jasmine who wears a fancy dark blue/pink outfit with veil and crown. This outfit seems to be replacing her regular movie pants and top because I’m seeing it more and more on new Princess products.

Grupo Erik has also an Enchanted Tales 2008 16 month calendar with the same poses just different backgrounds and the girls wear gold. Jasmine is again included twice as are everyone else. Not very original but if you don’t own the regular ’08 calendar the ET (i.e. Enchanted Tales) version is nice to have. I suspect only little girls would want both. Plus the agenda’s posters and other calendars Grupo Erik makes. There’s a Princess, Disney, Pixar, Ratatouille and Fairies product overview on their site you want to check it out.

Heather points to DVDtalk.com’s Paul Mavis review of Disney Princess Enchanted Follow Your Dreams. The overall thought is that Enchanted Tales is pure meant to bring in more money for Disney in the Disney Princess line and not, like the feature films, works of art. No surprising of course.
Nevertheless Paul Mavis finds the stories appealing and entertaining and the songs quite appealing.

Ultimate Disney in the person of David Block shares his view on Follow Your Dreams first volume summarizing the stories and prefers Jasmine’s story above Aurora’s because Jassy has gotten much more screen time then Aurora in movies and series. He also confirms it’s Lea Salonga returning as singing voice for the first time since the feature film and that Linda Larkin is credited with the surname Vasquez implying she got married.
