Just got the tickets last week. I haven’t been so excited about a Disney on Ice show since Beauty and the Beast a few years back. Princess classics will be my 5th show, last year was Mickey and Minnie’s magical journey. The Dalmatians sequence was allot of fun with all those fake puppies. Jungle Adventures in 2004, the Jungle Book scenes where the best with those apes performing difficult tricks. The year before that 100 years of Magic, got a glance of Al and Jas there. I remembered an annoying kid wanting to shake hands with Cindy near the end of the show. She didn’t react. And in 2003, not sure about the years, Beauty.

I mentioned I saw DP Hallmark postcards last week. I picked up a Jasmine card with golden earings, necklage and a border reflecting the light and the jewel on her headband is glued on. With text specially for you.. On the inside is left a desert landscape and o the right Jasmine smelling a rose with the palace on the background and the text happy birthday.

Snow White turned out very well, specially her diffecult hair. Really nice. -:)

I open the series with Belle because she was the most work. I had to redo her hair a few times, first it was too dark then her skin was to pink etc. You see scans of the magnets revealed tiny light pigments that were very difficult to spot with the naked eye. But when scanned at 600dpi it ruins areas with dark color like Belle’s hair but also Jasmine and Snow White needed to be tricolored by hand.

I’ve been searching for nice Aladdin and or Disney magnets for a while now. I use old dinosaur magnets to stick papers, reminders and notes to my computer case. Last week I bid on these magnets sold by Jen’s Treasures and Gifts a shop on Ebay. The instant I saw I knew scans of them would make great wallpapers and avatars. I completed Ariel, Belle, Jasmine, Snow White and Cinderalla yesterday and this morning still have to start on Aurora. Expect them at Streetrat sometime early November.

Pretty Princess Places

I’m a fan of the Disney Princess line even though Disney Consumer Products is sometimes pushing the line a bit too hard. More and more questionable DP products reach toy stores recently like a Disney Princess phone or a Cinderella TV and DVD combo in a light blue color pallet with hearts on top. Anyway you probably know as a well as I Jasmine is the stepsister of the Disney Princess family. Cinderella, Belle and Aurora are promoted to death with standard boring artwork on everything while products with Jasmine on it are hard to find. And even if you find something it’s often interesting artwork or a useless product to adult/teen fans.
Take the Jasmine section of Disney’s shopping site Disneyshopping.com. It has five pages with most of it DVD’s and CD’s. Ebay used to be a great source of hard to fine Aladdin merchandise from the good old days is filled with clothes, dolls and pins. I like this girl t-shirt with a lovely Jasmine print on it though. When filtering away the costumes, clothes, dolls and pins small gems like this Jasmine ornament surface.
A search for Disney Princess books at Amazon.com gives back large list with mostly questionable and poor quality books not interesting for a collector or Jasmine admirer. So when I saw the cover for Pretty Princess Places I was happily surprised the book had potential with a close of Jas centered and the other princesses smaller. I wasn’t willing pay an insane amount for the shipping so I got it through a local web store.
The book itself is slightly disappointing, hardcover with carbon pages showing the world of that princess and stickers of the princess themselves. The idea is that a child got to stick a princess anywhere in where the child has to paste a princess in their own world. For example Jasmine has the palace garden complete with fountain and birds. Printed on the double page are Aladdin, Abu and Genie. Ariel has Atlantica with triton palace, flounder and Sebastian.
I made a wallpaper and figured I can do other fans a favor by sharing it. So here it is click on the top right image.

Checking my referrals I noticed the post cover girl jasmine about issue 5-2005 gets lots of hits trough Yahoo image search. My visitors are looking for Princess Jasmine pictures and pictures of Disney Princess in general. I went back and made wallpaper from the cover. As you can see it has ugly letters over Jasmine and a huge ugly banner at the bottom. Sadly that meant I couldn’t use Jasmine’s full body and was restored back to using her upper boy as wallpaper.
In the end I’m happy with the result, a beautiful Jasmine in a nice outfit in a cute pose.

Today reservations for Disney on Ice tickets opened for the shows at Leiden en Den Haag this december. I am holding back watching videos from the show on YouTube not to spoil the event itself. I did take a peek at the A Whole New World recording that was uploaded recently. It looks very exciting can’t wait for December 23th.

I’m wondering what Feld Entertainment will bring next year. I’m pretty sure it will be one of the three Pixar film-based shows since the new Disney Princess show is…well…new and it always takes a few years before US tour shows reach Europe. Well then back to the shows we have Monsters Inc, Finding Nemo and The Incredibles to choose from. Of which I hope it will be the Incredibles show. It’s Pixar’s best film in recent years, Monsters Inc. was okay but not something to write home about but still worth watching on DVD now and then. Despite the box-office hit Finding Nemo was I never liked this film much. The story of a missing fish didn’t connect to me like a story about superheroes in disguise or a famous racecar getting lost in the middle of nowhere could.
