The Dutch April issue of Princess features Aurora, Ariel, Snow White, a tibt Pocahontas and 2 Jasmine activities. The 2 player game I WIsh, I Wish and a connect the dots annex coloring pages showing Jasmine and Alladin (with two l’s, shame on you Disney!) strolling around the garden watching a giant butterfly fly by. No stories, no comics  just this. In the magazine the colorable part are just Al/Jas and the butterfly the rest was already colored in.

Rajah tries to stop Jasmine from running away

In honor of Valentine’s Day 2008 here’s a coloring page of Aladdin and Princess Jasmine riding horseback. They’re off on a picknick leaving the rest of the gang in charge, to make sure the city is still standing when they return in the evening.

Foor every one with romance on their mind. I didn’t draw this coloring page myself nor did I scan it I meerly pasted two excisting black and white image together and decorated it.

Cute romantic Aladdin and Princess Jasmine coloring page - Valentine's Day

I realized there isn’t that much interaction between Jasmine and Genie and all the animated instances in the Aladdinverse. There is no interaction to speak of in the first movie, big blue and Jas don’t exchange dialogue at all. You remember the fun Genie had cheering up Jasmine in King but that’s only scenes in the movie between the two. I don’t think they talked much in Return of Jafar either. That pattern continued in the series where it seems Genie and Iago exchange more words then he and the princess.

Flipping through my comic book collection I came across the touching picture below. It’s from the Return of Jafar alternative version comic book, as I call it. Like in the movie Jafar and Iago escape the Cave but unlike the animated version Iago don’t dump Jafar instead they blend in the crowds strolling around the city in search for a way to get into palace unseen. They meet up with magician Farja, uncanny resembling the evil genie but wears green instead of red clothes.

Anyway, this picture comes from a part in the story where Genie just returned from vacation and shares, and shows, his stories with his friends. The Scheherazade line is made by me

kangofu at the LiveJournal community Agrabah posted an Aladdin/Jasmine Holiday coloring page . It’s from a recent Princess Magazine that came out in her country. I’ve nothing to offer her in return, but maybe you have! If you have any Aladdin holiday-ish artwork, photos, scans or anything else to offer go over to >Agrabah and let her know.

Disney Princess merchandise is so wide spread i’ll find it in the oddest places. I was shopping for PJ’s and as I walked in the store my eye caught a Disney Princess Sticker & Color book with Jasmine on the cover. Me checking of course and besides two fine looking coloring pages of Aladdin and Jasmine. Of course I had to buy it.

Plain coloring pages are a bit dull so I added a nice border and some text and tada two brand new high quality coloring pages.

Jasmine recieves an anniversary present .

While doing research for the 15th Aladdin Anniversary Celebration project for next month when it’s fifteen years since Aladdin premiered on November 25 1992 I came across “The Magic Carpet Ride” By A Golden Book.

It’s a small hard cover book aimed at Baby-Preschool kids. Published in the year of the movie’s release this 23 booklet is a summary of the events taken between the oasis and the kiss. On page 3 a great image of Aladdin thinking about Jasmine as he wished to become a prince.
I saw potential to make a fine coloring page from it while flipping through it. Can’t remember when exactly I purchased it though. Besides it’s been a while since I converted a full color image to a coloring page. I think it was the one where Jas was hugging a bird.

The coloring page itself isn’t that amazing, we’ve seen Jasmine dancing in fancy dresses before but I love the background. At first glance it looks easy to covert the image to a black and white coloring But when doing it was a tending job taking about one hour to 2 hours work every day for a week. The result is the biggest coloring page from Princess Magazine ever at Streetrat.

Romance in an oasis, Aladdin and Jasmine having a picknick – a colored coloring page. This one is again done by my mom. It’s from an old Disney Princess coloring page I should re-scan sometime, the ring of fruit was got off when I first scanned it back in 2005.

Oasis Romance Aladdin/Jasmine colored coloring page

This week I scored my best Ebay Aladdin purchase of 2007, a 40+ double page thick Aladdin coloring book full with fun activities, riddles, word search other games but what really gets me excited are the many super amazing black and white pictures highlighting major events from the film.

It was a gamble buying this book, it could be a big miss if most or all coloring pages where the same that are found on many general coloring page site as coloring-book.info. A quick scan though the book it looks like 2 to 5 pictures are found elsewhere the rest are unique. And while the book is worn, yellowed, slightly damaged, missing a few pages and fifteen year old, I don’t care not only is the second Aladdin only coloring book I’ve ever seen. It’s also loaded with good quality pictures enough to last for years before they’re all published at Streetrat.

The games and activites are a good source to have some variety between the coloring sheets, wallpapers and hopefully attract parents, kids and fans that are looking for activities that are easy and fun to do.

It’s the first coloring page traced on HQ scans from Japanse movie program.

Rajah Fan Art Week Summary

It’s the last day of Streetrat’s Rajah Fan Art week. Over the past 7 days 7 fan art pieces where featured that and Rajah got even more attention in the form of a wallpaper, 10 avatars and a coloring page plus attention for the endangered tigers in the wild as well. The reason this week existed in the first place.

On Monday Feline Jasmine was the featured art of the day as well as a personal trip report to the rare white tiger in the Amersfoort Zoo.

The following day, was the day of Rajah and Jasmine and promotion of a snow globe on EBay.

Wednesday Rajah got a female tiger friend in Rajah and friend and the 10 icons I mentioned earlier.

Thursday the spotlight was on Aladdin with Rajah instead of Jasmine. Streetrat also featured a home-made wallpaper of the beast, Rajah that is not Aladdin. -:)

The last day of the work week, Friday, featured the second piece with the princess and her tiger in Rajah’s Watch. Two of Rajah’s best official Disney story books where reviewed in Recommended reading, books starring Rajah the tiger.

Saturday Jasmine was hugging her feline friend in Jasmine and Rajah Hug. The second post of the day was devoted to a coloring page with the obvious title Cub Rajah Coloring Page.

The last day of Rajah’s week Sunday was By The Fountain and this summary post.

If enjoyed this week I appreciate it that you let the respective artists know. They can easily be contacted through DeviantArt, free registration is required I’m afraid. I’m concerning registering myself and publishing all homemade wallpapers there.

Lastly a word of warning.

Even though Rajah is a cute tiger and in the films, series and books he only harms the bad, annoying and egocentric guys a real tiger isn’t meant to be held as a pet. Excoticcatz.com explains why. You also want to support organizations like WNF in their fight against poachers who hunt tigers for their fur and body parts that are used in traditional Chinese medicine. This sadly has made the wild tiger one of the most endangered species on the planet.
