The cast and crew of Aladdin where reunited on Good Morning America in light of the upcoming Diamond Edition of Aladdin out on Blu-Ray October 13h, 2015.
Scott Weinger, Linda Larkin, Lea Salonga, Brad Kane, Jonathan Freeman, Alan Menken and writers/.producers/directors/ Ron Clements and John Musker where in New York telling how it was to work with the late Robin Williams. But the real highlight of the day is Lea and Brad sing A Whole New World again for the first time in 20 years.
Lea sings A Whole New World often enough at her concerts and other events, there are various YouTube videos of those performances online. But for Brad Kane it’s special because the only other person he ever sang ANWW was his wife at their wedding. Really special!
I’ve been listing to a >3 hour Disney Piano Medley on the YouTube channel of “kno Disney Piano Channel” these past days. Of course such a medley includes lovely and relaxing renditions of Aladdin’s music. In the first half an hour A Whole New World, Arabian Nights and One Jump Ahead can be heard plus Howard Ashman‘s beautiful Proud of Your Boy. The latter can be listened to in a separate video on kno’s YT channel.
I recall seeing individual storyboards somewhere but this is the first time I’ve the complete A Whole New World sequence in storyboard. Shame there’s no date listed I would’ve loved to know when and who story boarded this.
There very talented young performers from the Artsylum Quarte, piano, violin and bass, preform a wonderful rendition of Arabian Nights, A Friend Like Me, Prince Ali and A Whole New World. The latter was really amazing to listen and enjoy the beautiful composition by Alan Menken. Shame about the background noises though. Also listen to their The Little Mermaid medley, Pocahontas and Mulan preforms at their Youtube account.
