Vistors to Streetrat often request more information and specially pictures of My Best Friend is Jasmine by Lisa Ann Masoli (avaiable through Amazon.com) The book is 32 pages thick in a handy pocketformat so it’s easy to bring along on vacation. The story followes Jenna who, while picking appels from an overhanging apple tree branch, ends up on Rajah’s back. Princess Jasmine invites the poor hungry girl and her sibelings to stay at the royal palace for a while.
I uploaded high resolution images of Jasmine’s various outfits.
I made this wallpaper from the last page of the booklet My Best Friend is Jasmine (Jenna and her younger brother and sister are hungry and living on the streets in Agrabah—that is, until Jenna becomes best friends with Princess Jasmine! Find out how this streetwise little girl gets invited to live in a princess’s palace in this full-color padded and glittered hardcover storybook. ) Click on the thumbnail for the full version of 1920 by 1080 pixels then right click on it and choose “Set as Background” This may variy from system to system.
I found this one sitting unfinshed on my harddrive doing nothing so here it is. Simply click on the thumbnail to load the big picture then click right and choose ‘set as background’
Cracked.com carries a Cosmo spoof featuring the Disney girls while taking a good look at what Disney fairytales are supposed to teach little children about being an orphan, love and marriage. Take Aladdin for example it teaches kids, specially young girls that a rich girl runs away meets poor boy, he is supposely get killed, comes back to rich girl in disguise, takes her on a romantic night out and she marries him 2 days later.
Dating tip from Jasmine:
"He’s only lying about who he is because he thinks you’re shallow and superficial. LOVE HIM FOR IT."
It’s been slow around the web Aladdin wise, there’s simply nothing worth mentioning, that’s why I haven’t posted allot. Well today I got a nice Jasmine wallpaper for you credits belong to flickr ArenalGrace who used artwork scanned/created not sure what by LiveJournal user mdmbrightside
I saw Sleeping Beauty on Disney Channel the other day, about that only decent thing on but that’s a different story, so I checked around Deviant Art for SB fan-art and found a beautiful drawing of Jasmine in Aurora’s dress. I
A year of 5 ago I frequently bought Disney Princess Magazines for their cute covers, posters and backs that at least once a year featured the Arabian desert rose. At some point the magazines focused more on the big 4, Aurora, Cinderella, Ariel and Belle ignoring Jasmine altogether. The magazines have been a great source for me to create some beautiful wallpapers, see for yourself the Wallpaper Gallery page.
But I was never able to use my favorite picture the scan has been sitting on my computer for years and I’ve looked at it hundreds of times thinking and honor the majesty of the artwork. Tonight I saw this really nice wallpaper using artwork from another issue inspiring me to take another shot at it.
Click on the thumbnail for full size then click right on the picture choose “set as background” or something similar.
Disney Music Lovers is a new LJ community where Disney fans can discusss and share their favorite music by the house of mouse just opened it’s doors this week. Now on itself that’s not that new, there’s been dozens of web communties about Disney music but this one happens to have a really nice Aladdin background from an unknown artist. However as am not an member at LJ I can’t see past the front page.
In other LiveJournal news at the Disney Princess community is a good discussion going on about the difference between a Disney princess and a Disney heroine in terms of marketing and the actual characters as they appeared in their movies. I for one would like see a new DH line that includes girls like Megara and the fiesty Esmeralda but also classic Disney girls like Wendy, who would be a good role model being the big sister of two brothers.
LiveJournal member rebel princess posted scans of Royal Champions a cute Disney Princess booklet about horses starring Aurora, Ariel and our very own Jasmine. In the story The Desert Race the princess rides her horse Midnight against Aladdin’s steed who is powered by genie magic.
The stories of Aurora and Ariel look cute too and Ariel is human which doesn’t happen that often in Disney Princess merchandise.
You can try to download scans through Rapidshare although I wasn able, the site keeps asking to become a premium user. There are more pics in the replies over at d_princess.
Amazon sells the booklet is for around 10 US dollars. Dutch Bol.com has it for around 15 EURO.
d_princess … got a beauty cup and saucer set throught the Japanese edition of Yahoo!’s auctions. It seems stuff like this is being sold in the Toyko Disney themepark.
Wondering if there were any cosplayers made a nice Princess Jasmine costume I googled around but about anything that came where or already blogged or not worthy, IMO, and most blogged results linked back here to Streetrat. That might explain all the questions I’ve been getting by people wanting to know how I made certain elements from costumes instead of bothering to read further and follow the link to the source.
The girl on the right made a Disney Princess Jasmine costume it looks allot like Jasmine’s Disney Princess outfit 22. It’s very creative to think of a costume other then the movie outfit teal standard. I love the fabric, pattern and colors a shame from the skin colored thing that holds the top up. Maybe she redid it this year I’ll keep an eye open to see if she was photographed anywhere else.
Anyway there’s more in life then pretty princesses. We have our title hero but are honest there’s so much that can be done with his regular clothing. I believe the guy below shows how a nice Aladdin costume could look like. I like the patch and belt to bad about the sandals but I guess you can’t expect people to walk bare feet outside. Enter the great Jafar. A cosplayer did what it appears to be Jafar in his red attire from Return of Jafar with his lady who might be Jasmine in her scrooge of the desert outfit from the TV series episode Forget Me Lots where she joined the side of evil while having amnesia. Otherwise the costume slightly resembles black Jas doll attire that came out in ’99 or 2000 I believe. Or some other random anime-like character that matches nicely with the Disney costume I don’t know.
Note: To be clear, I am not the designer of any of these costumes nor can I get you in contact with the artist who made them. I also have no way to get in contact with the cosplayers on the photos. Please click the photos to go the appropriate pages.
LJ’r Christina shared 50 Disney Princess bases for icons c.q avatars. The Jasmine ones are famliar to me. In 2007 I made a wallpaper from the center poster from the Disney Princess Magazine June issue.
Tiana and Giselle are in the batch.
For years I’ve tried to make a coloring page of this image. I first saw it in the return of jafar comic many years ago. Fast forward to today where I found the image as coloring page in a Disney Princess Activity block. Once at home I threw it under the scanner, cleaned it up and added a nice border around her.
To print them click the thumbnail then use the brower’s printer function to print it. Normally that means clicking right and selecting “print picture”.
Like what you see? More coloring pages of Princess Jasmine are just one mouse click away.
I’ve added photos of European Sand Sculptures Festival 2009 at Noordwijk, Netherlands to my Flickr account. This years theme was Disney Princes in apprication of the new DP Tiana from Princess and the Frog. Stangely there was no sculpture of her but the other six D-ladies made that more then up.
The winner was the Cinderella sculpture however, as you can see, she looks quite odd. I heard a mom describe her as “cinderella’s grandmother”. My personal favorite, besides the pretty Aladdin sculpture, where the beautiful Ariel and the cute Sleeping Beauty sculptures.
