Old DL Aladdin themed Commercial and the Aladdin Musical Spectecular (go and see it before it closes) ad.
Jaffar has a small cameo in the animated commercial for Disneylands Haloween 2009 celebrations. Quite cool!
I found this cute pic in the Flickr Disney’s Aladdin group I just joined to show off my sand sculpture photo’s.
AladdinsGenie on the Aladdin Central boards brought to my attention that Disney’s California Adventure park is opening a new show next year.
“For those who don’t know, World of Color is the new night time show coming to Disney’s California Adventure park in 2010 along with several other features and attractions due to that billion dollar band-aid it was given a few years back . It sounds like IllumiNations from Walt Disney World and Fantasmic! from Disneyland had a baby and this show is the result, which means it better be awesome
As for relating to Aladdin…
Carl from “Up” arrives in his balloon house before the music transitions to “A Whole New World” as Aladdin and Jasmine fly by on a magic carpet. “

Aladdin’s Royal Caravan premiered at Disneyland in April 1993, almost a half year after the November 1992 release of the Disney’s animated hit, Aladdin. The parade delighted guests not only at Disneyland, but also at Walt Disney World there the parade made its way down Hollywood Boulevard in Disney-MGM Studios Theme Park.
In June 1994, Disneyland guests saw the royal procession for the last time as Prince Ali and Princess Jasmine made way for different royalty—the July 1994 debut of the The Lion King Celebration.
I remember the spitting camels from that 2-part Full House episode where the family visited Disney. “Watch out they spit!” genius! And that enormous Genie, wow! Love elephant Abu with Aladdin and Jasmine waving at the public. Cute!
I do think Jafar dissevered his own wagon, for more than a year the poor guy had to trail behind with Iago stuffed away in that garbage can -:(
There’s another recording of the parade during a windy day that cause some changes in that hero and heroine are under roof that might be Al’s hovel and animatronics Abu.
Heather useually spots remarkble stories in the general press involving Aladdin & co. She found a colomn at The Colombian how Griffin Bacon, an 8 year old cystic fibrosis patient learned crime never pays.
Vancouver’s Griffin Bacon discovered crime doesn’t pay while he was visiting Disneyland earlier this month.
Especially when the characters Aladdin and Genie are involved.
Griffin, 8, was at Disneyland with his mother and father, Michael and Sharon Bacon, as well as his 14-year-old sister, Tessa, on a trip arranged by the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Griffin has cystic fibrosis and had requested the trip.
Griffin’s run-in with the law happened one morning at breakfast. Aladdin talked Griffin into stealing a slice of peanut butter-and-jelly pizza and bringing it to him outside.
The manager got involved, as did Genie, and suddenly security was ready to arrest Griffin.
In the end, the Disney characters Aladdin and Jasmine came to Griffin’s rescue and Griffin escaped without ending up with a rap sheet.
“The whole thing wasn’t planned either,” Michael Bacon said. “They did a great job of ad-libbing.”
I heard the most wonderful version of Jasmine’s solo “To Be Free” from Aladdin: A Musical Spectectular on YouTube. It inspired me to search other versions of this Alan Menken song based on the instrumental To Be Free from the movie.
This YouTube user put the song, sang by Deedee Magno who played Jasmine in the park musical under footage from the movie. This version is on the offficial cast album.
A recording of that same actress, Deedee Mango, performing live on stage.
A more recent Jasmine sings To Be Fee in a more joyful and hoping matter. Her vocals are fine but DeeDee sounded more like Lea. This Jasmine acts more with her hands.
Feathersandploom does it the hard way, she sings the song without music. Nice voice though!
oceanege uploaded her performance today and this is version that I mentioned at the begining of this post. A fantasic voice I hope to hear more from the future.
