Meanwhile we’re still waiting for the folks at Disney Home Entertaiment (or whatever that division is called today) to bring us all 86 episodes on DVD.

As you know Aladdin was re-released to DVD as a Magical Music Edition late 2008. But in reality it’s just the 2004 version of the film without the bonus features. Officially the movie should be in stores here in Holland but I’ve yet to look/come across it. Meanwhile artwork of the French edition is online by DCP’s member Energie71 through Ultimate Disney Forumhttp://nsa03.casimages.com/img/2008/12/28//081228122221157721.jpg
Like the DVD the ugly artwork is from the 2004 edition.

Disneyclips.com, the largest online collection of Disney clipart, recently updated their Princess Jasmine selection with 4 cute poses and a new Al/Jas clipart. These cliparts are a great way to decorate CD and DVD case labels. For example I used Ducktales cliparts to make labels for the first homemade volume. For The Little Mermaid series I had a few coloringpages I colored years ago that came in handy.
You see since Disney isn’t going to release either series to DVD in our lifetime I decided to record episodes from TV and so form my own collection.

One dual-layer DVD can storage 10 episodes so I’ll need 9 DVD’s to fit the 87 Ducktales episodes, if they air all of course. The Little Mermaid only needs 3 maybe 4 DVD’s to hold the 31 episodes in the series. If Gummibears and Darkwing Duck re-air again I’ll plan to collect those too.

After the UK Holland gets the Musical Masterpiece Edition of Aladdin. The Dutch DVD webshop Bol.com lists Aladdin for a December 3 2008 release in it’s wake come The Return of Jafar and King of Thieves. I find it odd that a 2-disc version is mentioned and the cover is the same as the 2004 edition. That’s great ’cause I wanted to have a second copy, one in my room and one at the computer.
By lack of anything better here are all my screenshots from the Sprites, those cute little playful elf-like fellows. They met Aladdin & co in the series episode Love at First Sprite. The fun loving sprites spot Aladdin and Carpet high above the clouds where the two are stunting they follow the boy back to the palace. That night they ‘explore’ the palace resulting in battlefield the next morning it’s then they meet our heroes.
In addition to screens from Love at First Spite my album at photobucket also contains images from “Lost City of the Sun” the second and lost episode the Sprites appear.
“Love at First Sprite” is on the second volume of Princess Stories, Tales of Friendship for sale at all the regular places including Amazon.
