Gilbert Gottefried about his role in Aladdin

Actor and comedian talks about how he got cast as Iago and working as a voice actor on Disney’s Aladdin to EW

Twenty-six years after its release, Gottfried says he remains very proud of the Aladdin. “I remember the movie came out, and it was a monster hit,” Gottfried says. “Still, when I look at my career, I look at that one and say I know for a fact that one is a quality work.”

Andreas Deja posted a clip of his work animating Jafar in various stages, from simple lines, to complete inbetween final animation. He was has even bits of animation that didn’t make it to the final film. Like when Jafar says “Rasoul Azadani” to access the cave of wonders a reference to the layout supervisor of Aladdin and the classic “simsalabim”. In Aladdin and The King of Thieves Cassim says “Sesame Open” to enter his lair.
