Kilala is a Manga, a Japanese comic, character whose a big fan of the Disney princesss in volume 5 she travels to Agrabah and meets up with Princess Jasmine. The Disney girls facial features are “mangasized” meaning their eyes are bigger and expression and exaggerated like it’s common in Manga and Anime. shisora posed in the LiveJournal community d_princess are set of Jasmine icons taken from that comic.

Strolling off Ebay I came across this rare Aladdin spinoff radio play in German. It’s callled JAGOS RÜCKKEHR and seems to be starring Iago. Although I’m not able to translate the title my gut tells me it’s like Return of Jafar, Iago switches sides from evil henchman to good sidekick.
It’s released on a music casssete or MC which was what MP3 is today a way to have portable music back in the 80′s. The walkman is like the Ipod of the 80′s.
Came across this piece of fanart on DA, the only piece I thought was worth blogging in a while. Seems Jas is slowly losing her populairity among artists. I wonder if it has to do with Disney not putting her prompty with her Disney Princess friends like she used to. I haven’t seen any good DP merchandise let alone anything with Jas in it.
Beautiful drawing of our favorite princess that looks like it could have been part of the movie. The artist meant it as a joke but there’s some truth in it, seeing the reactions the 2D vs 3D animation discussion is still alive. I thought that had died now that almost all major animation studios have been producing computer animated films for almost a decade.
When Disney nicked traditional for computer animation a year of, what is it 6 years? ago it fel like betraying their legacy to me. Since then I have accepted it because well there’s nothing any fan can do about it. But when it watched Princess and the Frog last year I did question myself, why those folks at Disney’s gave up this beautiful craftsmanship. I did love Toy Story 3, that’s the most amazing storytelling in the whole TS series with great new characters. My next movie will be Rapunzel because well I’m done with Shrek and other animation movies don’t connect to me.

jesse52 obiviusly based this one on a coloring page featuring Jas during the magic carpet ride. I love the colors! Though her face is a bit off model then again coloring pages aren’t always on model either.
Well maybe not 365 icons, I bet if someone would want to there’s enough Jasmine in the cannon (films, series, video game) to have a ‘Daily Jas’. There’s a LiveJournal icon community called 365disney and user esprit_serein made a start at making icons for spefic themes like Flight, Back, Magic. The icons I’ve seen so far are very pretty.

DA user Opal-I did an amazing job in coloring a drawing of Jasmine and Rajah listing to Aladdin pouceing about how wonderful Princess Jasmine is by lordsnoopy. It’s excellent capturing the spirit of the scene well I mean I love the look she gives her pet tiger.
Opal’s focus is mainly on coloring other people’s drawings which is something this artist is pretty good at. Her other (Aladdin) work is certainly worth mentioning.
LordSnoopy’s gallery has nice drawings of again Jasmine but also Rajah and Jafar.
A year of 5 ago I frequently bought Disney Princess Magazines for their cute covers, posters and backs that at least once a year featured the Arabian desert rose. At some point the magazines focused more on the big 4, Aurora, Cinderella, Ariel and Belle ignoring Jasmine altogether. The magazines have been a great source for me to create some beautiful wallpapers, see for yourself the Wallpaper Gallery page.
But I was never able to use my favorite picture the scan has been sitting on my computer for years and I’ve looked at it hundreds of times thinking and honor the majesty of the artwork. Tonight I saw this really nice wallpaper using artwork from another issue inspiring me to take another shot at it.
